Motorholme Diaries: Benefits of motorhoming off season, join Vanessa who, today is motorhoming at Dungeness, Kent.
Vanessa: Good morning and welcome to another Motorholme video diary coming to you from Dungeness beach in Kent. And this diary, we are going to focus a little bit on motorhoming out of season because I want to dispel that myth that motorhomes are only fun in the summer. I simply dont agree.
My husband made me a lovely cup of tea, thank you Nick, and now I can settle down and chat a little bit about motorhoming in the down season in the winter. I mean first of all I think it is really important to point out that your motorhome has all mod cons: you have got heating, hot water, you can make hot drinks, and when you are in your motorhome, no matter what the weather, you just feel cocooned against the elements. It is really cosy and kids love it and we can talk about that in another video about why kids love motorhoming. So we got down here yesterday afternoon and we enjoyed a really lovely long walk on the beach and we sat here and had the privilege of seeing the most beautiful sunset and the moon came up, and it was a full moon, and went out and took some stunning photographs.
So there is a lot to be said for motorhoming in the offseason and there are three main reasons.
First of all, motorhome hire in the offseason is significantly less expensive.
Second of all, it is not very crowded and you can go and have places pretty much to yourself, we did here parked on the beach at Dungeness. We were pretty much the only people here apart from a few brave fishermen who were out enjoying the fantastic fishing.
And third of all, I think it feels like a real adventure because you are sort of battling the elements a little bit and you are really experiencing nature in its rawest sense.
I really believe that the UK coast and countryside is stunning and can be enjoyed at any time of the year so just take off, have an adventure, explore, and change your view. That is what motorhoming is all about and it can be done at any time of the year. A friend once said to me that there is no such thing as bad weather only inappropriate clothing and I really subscribe to that. As long as you have got your coat, your walking boots, your hat, your gloves, and your scarf, you are going to be able to enjoy any time away in your motorhome and go out and explore, nice long walks, take some photographs, bird watching, whatever floats your boat you can do it no matter what time of the year. As for me I am going to spend the rest of the day relaxing in the motorhome with my cats, here is one of them; here they are down here, and my husband of course.
We are going to enjoy reading and we are going to go have a lovely pub lunch on the beach so lots to look forward to today and until next time, thank you very much for watching Motorholme diaries and see you soon.
We hope you liked the video and if motorhoming at Dungeness or anywhere else appeals to you we hope that you will get in touch with us and consider hiring a motorhome for your next trip.
